As of September 21st, 2017 American Health Value will no longer be administering health savings accounts (HSA) and have transferred the administrative rights and duties to HealthEquity. As of today, we are no longer a point of contact for anyone who currently possesses an HSA, or for anyone looking to open an HSA.
Please see the information below for instructions relating either to existing account holders, or those looking to open an HSA:
Existing Account Holders
Nothing with your HSA has changed. You have the same checking/routing numbers, the same debit card, and the same online credentials necessary to access your account. Going forward, you simply need to direct all funding and inquiries to HealthEquity instead of our office.
You can visit the following links to access a PDF copy of the letters that were mailed to individual account holders and/or employer groups announcing this transition:
To access your HSA online: Click here
To contact HealthEquity directly: please call 877-694-3942 or email them at info@healthequity.com
Opening A New HSA
We are not able to open an HSA for you at this time. Please visit www.healthequity.com to open your health savings account.
A Sincere Thank You
After 20 years of HSA administration, American Health Value has made the difficult decision to exit the HSA marketplace. Each and every one of our clients have been at the center of what we have done for two decades and are the reason why our staff has been so honored to suit up and show up for you at work every single day. It is with our clients at heart, that we feel it is in their best interest to transition them over to our custodial banking partner HealthEquity and allow them to also take on the full role as your HSA administrator.
From everyone at American Health Value, it has truly been a pleasure serving the HSA needs for all of our clients over the last two decades and we sincerely thank all of you for the opportunity to work together.

Last week we had the opportunity to head down to Las Vegas, NV for the annual IHC Forum West Conference! This particular conference is 100% dedicated to consumer-driven healthcare, innovative health and benefits management, and tips and strategies for navigating today’s uncertain and ever-changing healthcare landscape.
We had the chance to sit down with so many amazing people from companies large and small, from all across the nation. Everyone had the same goals in mind: advance consumer-driven healthcare regardless of the political climate, and help to educate and implement it into the nation’s work force.
Attendees at IHCForum West ranged all over the board from national banks to massive employers like Target, to national hospitals, insurance carriers, and tech startups. We wanted to highlight one in particular, as an example of the forward-thinking individuals and companies we got the chance to network with during the event. Below is our National Marketing Director Rebecca Messreni with a man by the name of Aaron Burke, who founded OVO Health.

OVO Health is a tech startup that will shortly be launching in several major cities across the country. As they state on their website, “Why pay $50,000 for a knee replacement when the same quality of care costs $15,000 down the street?” OVO Health lets you type in your zip, pick your procedure, and see all the local (registered) doctors and their pricing. This is a brilliant way to create an open free-market system with cost transparency for the patients, while simultaneously creating a great marketing and branding opportunity for the local doctors’ offices to earn new (and recurring) business.

Brilliant idea, especially when it’s applied with consumer-driven health care & health savings accounts. People are spending their own money, and they want to shop around and be better consumers. This kind of thinking coupled with this kind of technology allows them to do just that, and very effectively!

Last week we had the opportunity to attend the annual ICMG (Inter-Company Marketing Group) Conference which was held in beautiful Phoenix, AZ. ICMG has become one of our favorite annual events to attend because it is invite-only, is attended solely by Presidents and CEO's, and creates excellent opportunities to bring more value-added programs and benefits to our account holders.
American Health Value was the title sponsor for the annual ICMG golf tournament, and this year proceeds went to benefit The First Tee. The First Tee is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit initiative of the World Golf Foundation based in St. Augustine, FL. The First Tee's mission is to impact lives of young people by providing learning facilities and educational programs that promote character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf.
You can learn more about The First Tee by visiting their website, or watching this great video below:
One of the highlights of the conference was attending the presentation of keynote speaker Bill Driscoll. William P. Driscoll is a Former US Navy TOPGUN Aviator and instructor.
He served as a member of the US Navy's first and only team of jet-missle Aces, shot down five enemy fighters in combat (Vietnam) and is one of the highest decorated living Naval Flight Officers of the past 50 years. His major awards include: The Navy Cross, two Silver Stars, the Purple Heart, ten Air Medals, and a nomination for the Medal of Honor.
If any of you ever get the chance to see this man speak, we highly recommend you attend! He does an incredible job of relating the principles that are required to be a Navy fighter pilot (discipline, focus, intensity, and commitment) to being successful in both your business and personal life. He is truly a gifted speaker that inspires you to strive for these canons in every facet of your life.
When it was all said and done, ICMG was a huge success! The sold-out golf tournament raised a significant sum to donate to The First Tee, and we made some great new business contacts. We look forward to working with these businesses in the future to offer our clients additional value-added services and benefits in conjunction with their health savings account.

For our first blog post, we wanted to take the opportunity to share what an exciting time we had at the CAHU 2011 Health Care Summit in Burbank, CA! We actually sponsored this event, and had the pleasure of spending time with two close friends and partners: Jay Fettig, co-founder of the BATTLE System, and Harry Thal, the unofficial Medicare expert of California!

During the conference, we actually reached out to a man named Michael Reynolds who had tweeted that he was speaking at the show about the impact of social media! We told him to stop by our booth and say "Hello" after his speech and sure enough, there he was!
He shot this short video promo for us as a "Thank You" for using social media the way he was discussing in his speech! Check out the video below with our National Marketing Director Rebecca Messreni and Jay Fettig, co-founder of the B.A.T.T.L.E. System!
When it was all said and done, we made a lot of new friends and reconnected with a lot of old friends as well. It was a really positive show, and we are really looking forward to working with all the agents we met in every aspect of their business. It is always an honor and a pleasure to meet face to face with the people who are truly on the front lines of today's health care landscape!
